With 2013 very nearly over we thought we would put together a roundup of the year’s most expensive cars. Who knows, you just might get the keys in your Christmas stocking if you’re lucky!
The cheapest of our top 10 most expensive cars of the year is the Ferrari Enzo. If you would like to purchase this car in 2014 then you had better have a spare $670,000 lying around. Well this is if you can get your hands on it, there were only 400 made and they are now reaching $1 million at auctions. It was built using Formula 1 technology with a carbon fibre body an electro-hydraulic shift transition among other features.
Next on the list is the McLaren F1 which will set you back a cool $970,000. This is due to the fact that in terms of performance it is leading compared to numerous other supercars as a result of the 240mph it is capable of. There were only 104 cars made which makes purchasing one now very expensive.
Hennessey Venom GT Spyder
If you have some more cash in the bank then why not opt for the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder for $1 million. Although they don’t make this car in a convertible version anymore it is still great to look at. Would you really want the top down doing 70 in this car anyway? It is one of the most powerful cars in the supercar world with a carbon fibre body not including the roof or doors and has 1244 hp.
The list wouldn’t be complete without featuring a Maybach somewhere along the way and it actually features twice. The first one is the Maybach Landaulet which costs $1,380,000 which is possibly one of the most expensive five doors on the market but of course this makes it the most luxurious. It can reach 0-60 in just 5.3 seconds.
Next is the Koenigsegg Agera at a price of $1,800,000. This is a great car as it is also available in matte colour options which are becoming increasingly popular. It also has a huge 1,140 horsepower and carbon fibre wheels. The car is available in left and right hand drives and also comes with 120 litres of luggage space, what more could you want?
Aston Martin one-77
Aston Martin hits the list at number five with the one-77 and will set you back $1,850,000. It also comes in an electric version. It is a two door coupe and first appeared in 2008 and there were only 77 made. This exclusivity is what pushes the price up but a great car to own.
The Bugatti Veron is up there with the most powerful with 1,200 hp powered by a 16 cylinder engine. Although powerful, it will make a dent in the bank account costing $2.6 million.
Depending on how good you were this year, Santa may be bringing you the Lykan Hypersport at $3.5 million which makes it to number 3 on the list.
The second most expensive car in 2013 is the Lamborghini Veneno with a price tag of $4.5 million. The car was created to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary and named after a legendary fighting bull that was known to be the strongest and most aggressive. It is based on the Aventador Coupe and mostly built from carbon fibre. It has a four wheel drive and powered by a V12 engine. According to Lamborghini it can reach speeds of 220 miles per hour and does 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds.
First on our list of the most expensive car sold in 2013 is the Maybach Excelero which has a whopping price tag of $8 million. It is the most expensive vehicle that Maybach sell and has a twin turbo v12 engine. They built it as a more modern version if the legendary sports car that was created in the 1930s.
Whilst many of us can only dream of buying one of these cars if you are able to purchase one make sure you have shopped around for car insurance. Although if these cars are in your price range you probably aren’t too worried about the price of your premiums!
