Changes in Driving Habits and Laws Over the Last 50 Years!

This year Bedford Insurance is officially turning 50, which got us thinking: what has changed in the motoring world over the past half a century?
After a bit of research we found all sorts of crazy facts and information, such as that it wasn’t until 1970 that driving instructors had to be officially registered and that there are currently 27 million vehicles on the UK’s roads!

Audi to reveal future Models at the Geneva Motor Show

It is expected for the new Audi TT  to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show this year, and whilst Switzerland don’t have a car industry of their own, they aren’t about to miss out on any action! This neutral ground plays host to the biggest car manufacturers who consider it to be one of the largest events of the year. London Motorexpo returns for another year

London Motorexpo, the UK’s largest free-to-attend motoring event, got underway this week and is set to break all records this year.
Returning for one week only between June 10 and 16 in the exclusive setting of London’s bustling business district Canary Wharf, Motorexpo’s revolutionary show format is a real fan favourite, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. With more brands exhibiting this year than ever before, visitor numbers are expected to exceed the record 460,000 who attended last year’s event.

Chelsea AutoLegends

Last Sunday saw the area of Chelsea play host to some of the finest cars on the planet as the Chelsea AutoLegends show took part. It was a fantastic day out and one we were pleased to attend! This was only the third year of the event and it was the biggest and best so far with thousands in attendance from all over the country as well as a number of local attendees.

The Moscow International Motor Show

The Moscow International Motor Show has kicked off this week, running from the 27th August until the 30th August. The event is one of the biggest of the year, however, for the European market, this can be seen as a warm up event for the Paris Motor Show next month.
Nevertheless, some great cars are on display in Moscow this week with many new cars and concepts being unveiled.

F-Type Jaguar to be Unveiled in Paris

It has been confirmed that Jaguar will be showcasing its new F-Type sports car in at the Paris Motor Show 2012. This is being held at the end of September.

We first heard about this car last year at the Frankfurt Motor show although then it appeared as the Jaguar C-X16 Concept. It has also appeared throughout the year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car has also been through 500,000 virtual testing parameters.

Nurburgring to go Bankrupt

The legendary Nurburgring has suggested that it is about to go bankrupt, much to the dismay of many motoring and motorsport enthusiasts around the world.
The Nurburgring, situated around the village and medieval castle of Nurburg, up in the Eifel Mountains in Germany, is a 14 mile public circuit that has been famed for generations and has also been known as the “Green Hell” back in its heyday when the German Grand Prix was held around the Nordschleife (the old Northern Loop track).

2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed took place at the weekend and it was yet another epic event. It was the 20th annual Festival of Speed with the first one having taken place in 1993. 20 Festival’s later and this year’s event was the biggest and best of all time.
