Saab Car Insurance

Saab is a Swedish car manufacturer who is currently wholly owned by General Motors. Saab has the royal warrant for the HM King of Sweden. Saab is well known for its “green” and safety conscious designs and Saab competes directly with Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.

The company was established in 1937 and was originally for the purpose of building aircraft for the Swedish Air Force. At this time World War II was nearing an end and the company began to look for new ways to expand. Called “Project 92” the goal of creating the first Saab passenger car was starting in 1944 and five years later production of the Saab 92 began. Aerospace engineering played an important role in the design and you could see that this company had a background is designing aircraft when the 92 was around.

In 1955 they re did the 92 and it became the 93 – the engine grew from a two litre to a three litre and the car received a completely new look. The 99 was their final Saab that was designed by Sixten Sason who were the designers for all their earlier models. Its design which was fresh when compared to older Saabs marked their brands styling for the next 20 years.
