The drink driving limit is set at 50mg and a reading exceeding 120mg will get you a stretch in a Finnish prison.

The Finnish Road Laws

All car passengers must be wearing a seatbelt at all times.
A child under the age of 3 or less than 1.5m tall travelling in a vehicle must be seated in an approved child seat. If no suitable seat or restraint is available, passengers that are 3 years and older must travel in the rear of the vehicle using a seat belt or other safety device.
If you park in a poorly lit street at night then you will be required to leave your parking lights on for the duration of your stay.
Where the speed limit is set at 60kmh (40 mph) or less, buses have the right of way at all times.
Trams always have priority.
Motorcyclists must dip their headlights during the day and wear a crash helmet at all times. This includes any passengers.

Outside Urban Areas – 80 Km/h (50 mph)
Motorways – 120 Km/h (75 mph)
PLEASE BE AWARE – Winter speed limits are applied in the winter months.

Local Knowledge

You must park in the direction of a traffic and must be at least 5 meters from any junctions or pedestrian crossings. Fines will be issued to people that don’t obey these laws and can be up to €170.
If you hit an animal whilst driving in Finland then you must report it to the police.
